Tai Chi Sensitivity & Push Hands Workshop
A gentle path to deeper relaxation, harmony, and mindful awareness
Many Tai Chi practitioners eventually reach a point where their progress feels stuck. The movements are familiar, yet the sense of ease, flow, and inner harmony remains elusive. Without true relaxation and sensitivity, the deeper benefits of Tai Chi—better health, emotional balance, and a calm, centred mind—can feel just out of reach.
This workshop is designed to help you move beyond that plateau with softness, clarity, and joy.
Our focus will be on solo training and partner-based sensitivity Push Hands (Tui Shou). Push Hands is a traditional two-person Tai Chi exercise that develops balance, relaxation, and the ability to sense and respond to subtle forces. Although it is sometimes seen as a competitive or forceful practice, there is a softer way of practice to cultivate listening energy—the skill of feeling, yielding, and flowing with another person’s movement rather than resisting it.
Through gentle, mindful interaction, you will learn to:
-
Release unnecessary tension
-
Improve posture, rooting, and body alignment
-
Develop sensitivity to subtle shifts in pressure and intention
-
Move with softness, clarity, and effortless flow
-
Cultivate a calm, grounded presence
Push Hands is widely recognised as a powerful method for deepening Tai Chi understanding and improving internal awareness.
This workshop is open to all levels and all Tai Chi styles. Expect a session that is fun, informative, and deeply nourishing - a space where movement becomes meditation, and connection becomes a path to inner harmony.
